You: How did the Chicago trip wrap-up?
As Wayne and Garth once said, “Excellent!”
You: You’re dating yourself.
I realize. Nonetheless, I believe they did once broadcast from little old Aurora, IL, so I guess being in Chicago just got me in an SNL mood.
You: For me, it’s the deep-dish pizza.
I’d say that’s probably more common.
Anyway, notwithstanding the previously mentioned blue El line of pain, the trip to Chicago was successful. Over 125 people attended the two seminars and we picked up media attention on WGN-Radio and an upcoming segment on Fox-Chicago.
At the seminars, there was a lot of enthusiasm and questions about how to live Beyond Paycheck to Paycheck.
It’s quite refreshing to see, first-hand, people eager to improve their financial lot in life. No one is destined to live a life of paycheck to paycheck. Education solves most problems. Finance is no different. And the best part is that personal finance is just not that difficult. In fact, for most of us, our day jobs are far harder. But we’re taught how to do our day jobs. When it comes to personal finance, usually no one has taken the time or made the effort to teach us.
You: So it feels so intimidating.
Exactly. And let me tell you: you’re so not alone in feeling that way.
You: I know, I couldn’t believe how many people showed up to the seminar I attended.
Yes, and it was a diverse group too. Men and women of different ethnicities, age groups, and presumably income levels, all attended because they desired the unbiased guidance they have not yet received.
You: So they got it. But for everyone else in Chicago – now you’re gone.
Well, I’ve returned home from Chicago. There’s always this blog to keep you company in the meantime and, perhaps, a return visit to Chicago. In the meantime, if you or someone you know lives in or near Boston, there’s yet another opportunity to hear me tell you, in-person, how to live Beyond Paycheck to Paycheck at the CFP Board’s annual financial planning clinic. It’s a great event and the perfect opportunity to either begin the process of putting a little financial planning into your life or to take it a step further.
You: Can I tell you something about the seminar in Chicago or ask you a question?
Do you see the comment thing below?
You: Yes.
Go for it!
