Hope you had a great Fourth of July holiday weekend. Aside from some preventable sunburns, I had a blast. We spent a ton of time outside, including local festivals, time with family, and a lot of digging at the beach. Hey, when the weather’s good . . .
Also managed to play skeeball for the first time in ages and found one for kids without the ramp. A three year old can just toss it into the circles. My daughter still managed to send it over the machine a couple of times, but for a quarter it was a hoot. Almost like a carnival! Speaking of carnivals–
You: Weak.
Try coming up with a new introduction to the same concept week after week!
You: No thanks.
This week’s carnival is hosted by Mighty Bargain Hunter and like always includes dozens of informative personal finance blog postings from the last week or so, including my post about how not taking advantage of your job’s benefits is dumb.
To me, the best article of the carnival, (if you have time to read just one) is Four Easy Ways to Pay off a Loan Early by Not Made of Money. These are all doable, timeless, and relatively pain-free methods to pay off debt sooner. Their methods aren’t all that exciting . . . until you get to that point where the debt is paid off years earlier.
When suffering from a large debt, consider your alternatives, negotiate with your creditors and know the next steps in consolidating your credit. Thanks for the article!
