Nice post
A budget is a spending plan that includes everything you will spend money on. A good budget is a spending plan that includes everything you will spend money on and stays within your income.
Budgeting tips, information, advice, and resources to help you set up a successful budget and stay motivated.
Budgeting is something that many of us don't like to consider as we think it will tie us down. But if you really stop and think about it, budgeting is simply a means of looking at your income and expenditure and deciding on what is most important to you.

@Steven - thanks for stopping by. Love your explanation of dynamic luxury - individual circumstances can cause products/services to feel like a necessity. So can time. Think about cell phones. In the days of "Pretty Woman" there were about 20 people in the U.S. with phones. Of course they each weighed 5 pounds at the time. . .

As brother of topic discussed on this blog -- thought I would chime in and make two points...

1) Michael: XM called me last night. They are raising my rates because everyone is now calling and saying they heard about some "better deal" out there from the Total Candor blog. Thanks a lot. :)

2) Regarding whether or not satellite radio is a "luxury item," I would argue it is not. Why? Simply put -- anything that keeps an individual (specifically, me) from having road rage shouldn't be labeled a luxury item, but rather a vital necessity. Sometimes I laugh so hard with the radio show I listen to on my way to work in the morning (oh, and I catch more of the show on the evening re-play on my way home at night-- no extra charge!), I forget that I'm doing 5 MPH on I-95!
