I would agree that if I'm going to cash in some miles/points, I always want to get the most bang for my buck. Even though the ticket/room would be free with the use of miles/points, I still want to feel like I'm getting my "money's worth" and got an overall good deal or value. I travel a lot so I rack up a good amount of miles and points with various airlines, hotels, and car rental companies.
